JESSICA HOFFMANN-STONE  (Jessie)

I am a DONA trained birth doula practicing in and near the city of Pittsburgh. (Preferred pronouns: she/her).

I went to school for biology and anthropology, and have been exploring ways to use my background and interests in a helping profession. I am also a musician. During a tour, my band and I were hosted by a retired midwife. She and I talked about birth work, and I was immediately drawn to it. Birth work fits very naturally in my combined wish to support others, and my background knowledge of human biology and culture. The next step was to start reading and learning, and I decided to take a doula training course in June of 2019.

I am new to the field, but I bring passion, compassion, flexibility, and openness. I am eager to support birthing people and their families in whatever way is needed during pregnancy and birth, be it finding resources and information together, discussing and assisting in organizing their plans, being an advocate, or just a kind listener.

I am honored to be a part of this community, and look forward to working with you!
